The Board Is Made Up Of 7 Members

The Florida Board of Respiratory Care plays a leading role in health care regulation through interaction with prospective applicants, licensees, education providers and the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

The Board consists of seven members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Each respiratory care professional must have been actively engaged in the delivery of respiratory care services in this state for at least 4 consecutive years prior to appointment. The board shall include a registered respiratory therapist, a certified respiratory therapist; a respiratory care professional from the areas of respiratory care education, respiratory care management supervision and homecare/subacute. Two members must be consumer members, who are residents of this state and have never been licensed as health care practitioners.
